I don’t even know who came up with this silly name, it was probably Scott, either way, it stuck and Thunda on the Tundra finally took place today. On the surface, it was a bunch of friends getting together to watch football on a snowy Sunday afternoon.

What it really ended up being, was an ode to Nate’s love and passion for the Green Bay Packers.

I don’t “do” football, but I do have a favorite team. The logic is simple, I went to Valencia High School, our mascot was the Vikings…so the Minnesota Vikings are mine. Naturally, I wore my Vikings jacket. Nick noticed and said, “but isn’t that like rooting against the Packers?” Facepalm. Obviously he hasn’t been following the rivalry closely. That was exactly my point!

When we arrived, Scott was in cooking mode, preparing some guacamole right in front of us. We had heard about all of his world famous food, but had yet to see the master at work.

Bree decorated and even set up the table with Packers and Bears colors! So cool!

Scott made his famous ribs for us, which he brought in from outside. They were amazingly awesome!

Soon, the food was served and we ate ribs, pasta salad, guacamole, salsa, sauerkraut, and chili. Mike D. brought his world famous chili for us to try! We had been seeing him hard at work cooking it yesterday and finally got to try!

This chili PWND. Nick could not stop saying DEEEEEElicious and I had two bowls.

The ribs along with Scott’s homemade BBQ sauce…yeah…amazing

Needless to say, everyone loved the food!

While we were all eating and hanging out, there was a football game on the TV! I don’t think most of us were that into the game…but we were all there to support Nate and serve as an audience for the N8 show. If you have never seen the N8 show…you are missing out. I could not stop laughing every time the Packers did something good.

As the game ended, we were all so glad the Packers won, for Nate’s sake. I can only imagine how things would have gone if they hadn’t beaten the Bears. I have never seen anyone so passionate about a team. Its oddly endearing.

Most of us are on a trivia team that meets every Wednesday at Chuy’s and recently there was a tournament. Well, long story short, the team won, and the prize was a Miller Genuine Draft sign that in reality, none of us wanted. The real prize was winning the tournament and hanging out. So two weeks ago when they won, the team decided that at Thunda on the Tundra everyone’s name would go in a hat and there would be a drawing. The problem was, we still didn’t want the sign!

The winner of the sign was Jason…but he doesn’t want it either! Who knows what the fate of the sign will be…to be continued! I think Scott will hold on to it for now.

A huge thank to Scott for having us today and cooking some great food! And a special thanks to Mike D. for making his famous chili for us. It was such a blast hanging out with Susan, Jay, Jason, Nick, Alexis, Mike Cruz, Bree, and N8.

yay!
And it was snowing outside!
Can’t forget the snow
It was our festivus miracle
Thanks to Scott on one kick ass party
