I had been hearing about Cheese Cave for a while now, most recently thanks to John Lesko of All Spice Cafe. Despite the fact that its so far away, I was able to visit this shop last Sunday. Apparently my best friend had visited recently and wanted to stock up on some cheese for the Super Bowl…so this post is about how Bonnie and Clyde randomly hung out at Cheese Cave…and subsequently how it led to the Packers winning the Super Bowl.
Daniel is a huge Green Bay fan. I’ve known this for a while, but I didn’t realize the full extent until football season got in full swing. I don’t do football. I never have. I probably never will. It is a sport I fail to understand, but as a crew we all became Packer fans because we learned how important the team was to our boys. As Scott said earlier today, we support our friends.
Anyway, back to Cheese Cave! The shop itself is small but totally stocked with cheese and other goodies. Throughout the day they have some pre made sandwiches, but they were out of most of them since it was so close to the end of the day.
The girls working at the shop were so sweet and nice! Daniel wanted to try everything. Well, not literally, but once he tried one cheese, the girls wanted to let him try more and more. As a result, I got to try a bunch of cheese too! I don’t remember all the different cheese names but it was a wonderful spread of different varieties. I love cheese!
There was one cheese that totally stood out! I didn’t know the name of it, so I just referred to it as the cheese I tried three cheeses ago. It was soooo good! It was goat cheese cheddar something or other. Amazing stuff! It was honestly the one cheese that was the most memorable among everything we sampled. I ordered 1/4 pound of it and it was quickly wrapped up for me. Turns out it is named Snow White! How cool is that?
As we were getting ready to pay, something caught my attention…they have some shelves where they sell some stuff that you can take home to compliment your cheese selections. Then I saw the Ritual logo!
It was great to meet you at Bake you Happy yesterday. Kim told me about your article, which I read on the way to the SuperBowl Party. Can you believe my partner Julie who is from Wisconsin doesnt like cheese? Criminal I say!!
This place combined with the lucky hat is the difference!
