So one of the newer independent places to open up in town is called Fresh Pita Grill and is located in the same shopping center as Peets, Party City, Olive Garden, etc. I saw signage going up a few weeks ago and I had a good feeling about this place…

Since this family stuff has been hard on everyone, I hadn’t really been eating much (that’s how you can gage how bad the situation is – which stage of grief is that?) but thought hey, I’m on Spring Break, might as well get out there and try some new places. So RE and I headed there…neither of us having much of an appetite…

We started out with a small order of hummus which came with plenty of bread. I wasn’t crazy about the hummus, but it might just be me. RE liked it. I had the chicken pita. I really liked it. Full of flavor too!

This was RE’s plate, which came with hummus! Now you know! Anyway, I ended up eating most of this since RE hasn’t been eating much lately. It also had really good flavor.

The seating inside can be a little cramped and there are only about 4 or 5 tables, but outside has some seating too. As it gets hot outside, its a nice place to grab a quick lunch. It is nice to have some new options in town slanging this type of food. Plus, the location is more centrally located. Definitely go check it out for yourself and see what you think. Oh, this came with RE’s food…the bread was warm so that was a nice touch.

If you liked the chicken sandwich here, you should try the one at Manoushee – and there hummus is really good.
I love your food photos LD. I wish I could do the same with my cellphone and make it all look so mouth-watering!
Lady –
the next time you come up north — you must try flame and skewers http://flameandskewers.com/
oh so, yum yum yummy!
it’s a must at least once a week for lunch. The chicken shawerma sandwich is my favorite — similar to a gyro or pita. Must stop typing, as I’m drooling on my keyboard!
hope all is well,
BwayFan!
P.S. Two locations and locally owned!
