When I set out to write this blog, and even my old blog before coming to wordpress, I always said I would keep it upbeat and positive. Which usually meant I would only write about places I really liked. Then my friends started saying I was too nice, and when I would complain about a place to them, they encouraged me to blog or Yelp it, and most of the time after that I would just let it go or it became a Blind Item, where I would post clues and people would leave their best guess in the comments section. Remember the infamous eggo waffle apple tart? Maybe I should post that again…
Some places are so bad, even I can’t resist…but I’m still a little bit nice, so I usually wont say the name outright, like with that “BBQ Place” we all ate at the other night. Did you notice I never gave the name? Now, of course it isn’t so hard to figure out…but there may be one or two people that still have no idea…
Which brings me to this post:
Blind Items are BACK! Leave your best guess in the comments!
This place is a fail of epic proportion.
You want to know how bad it is? I actually sat there and wrote out a draft of my review using my iPhone. Usually I can wait until I get home, and sometimes I even wait a few days if I’m really busy.
I was lured in while I had some time to kill in this ‘hood and I used the Yelp application for iPhone, which led me to this place. The other two reviews are really great and the reviewers even used words like “phenomenal” which made it sound like it would at least rival the Taco Mother.
Well, I have eaten many a taco in my day and these were among some of the worst. The meat tasted like it had been reheated plenty of times and had become really dry. And what’s with all of the cilantro? I’m not a vegetarian! I want meat! The chips metioned by the others tasted awful and I’m guessing were store bought. They were served luke warm.
The place is also really dirty! I have eaten at some of the most ghetto places in and around LA and even on the street once or twice (ok…more like a gazillion times) but there is a certain level of hygiene that I look for, even from a cart or a stand. Now, this is a sit down fast food place! I expect a little more from them.
P*** *** definitely does not cater to people that enjoy Mexican food. It caters to people that like ketchup with their tacos because that is what can be found on every table, along with Tapatio.
They advertise “baja style” tacos (steak or chicken) which should have been a sign. If it is a Mexican food place and they don’t have the basic meats like al pastor, tripas, etc., then they cater to a different crowd and I have no business eating here.
Oh and I take offense to the sign that says these are authentic Baja style. What did the kind people of Baja do to deserve this?
Think you know the name of this place?
