I’m embarrassed to admit that although I have passed by Blossom (both by car and on foot) in Downtown LA countless times, I had never eaten there before this past Saturday. The timing was just never right.
That is why, after leaving the Red Bull Soapbox Race we headed to Blossom. We were really hungry from being out in the sun for hours and looking forward to finally trying it! There are two sides to Blossom. This is the left entrance:
And this is the right side, which is where we ate.
The first thing I noticed was that it was very clean and provided the perfect ambience for the type of food we were going to be eating.
When I saw “shaking beef” on the menu it instantly reminded me of the Slanted Door (which I haven’t been to in a while) and I knew I had to order it! I must say, it was really great!
My dining companions ordered Pho:
Which apparently was excellent.
And pork chops:
Which were absolute perfection! I tried a piece and instantly decided that I would order it next time I’m at Blossom.
You know when you have so much anticipation before finally being able to try a place, and it turns into a letdown? Well that didn’t happen here at Blossom. It was 10x better than I thought it would be. I honestly can’t wait to come back!
Oh, and it wouldn’t be DTLA is there wasn’t filming going on, amiright? This is going to be some commercial for Microsoft, I believe…
And, for your information! Blossom is right across the streets from Big Man Bakes! So I stopped by for a carrot cake mini that only cost $1.00! Perfect!
