Almost daily, after work, I find myself on the way home and craving some dessert. Even after I have had a late lunch, I always have room for something sweet. And that is why I’m always complaining about the lack of a bakery in Valencia where I can just go buy a slice of cake or something and be on my way.
Well, I’ve found a place. The Coffee Bean of all places! Basically last week they had a “free blended drink” day and I went to check it out. You might find this hard to believe, but I’m not a big coffee drinker. If anything I’m partial to fruity blended drinks and I usually get a Vivano from Starbucks. My freebie is featured above. So, I’m at the Coffee Bean and I see a girl eating a lovely looking red velvet cupcake on a plate. At the ‘Bean. However, I did not see any in the case so I thought maybe she had brought it from home or something.
Anyway since I liked my ice blended orange something or other (sunrise?) I’ve been stopping by after work before going home. It tastes like an Orange Julius, but better. I don’t know! For some reason I really like it!
Since I’m at the Coffee bean so much, I’ve become the Mayor! And, I have since discovered that they have cake. Coconut cake to be exact! The perfect size too! Apparently they get different pastries all the time, and it turns out that cupcake the girl was eating on my previous visit was from the ‘Bean. They just aren’t delivered everyday! I have yet to see Red Velvets in the case, but I’m sure one day soon I’ll get to try one.
Two days ago, after eating at New Moon, I went over to the Coffee Bean for dessert again, only this time I opted for a waffle. Fantastically sweet! And if I remember correctly it was under $2! Score!
This post is strictly about the Coffee Bean on Newhall Ranch Rd. In the evenings, I have seen an older asian couple hanging out there a few times and they always seem to order the same thing. They sit there and have these conversations as if they haven’t seen each other in a long time. In reality, I have come to find out that they go there everyday and even have their usual table. They have been going there everyday for 2 years and they don’t seem tired of each other’s company. Those two give me hope that maybe one day I will meet an awesome boo replacement. Someone unlike M. Someone I can actually stand to be with for more than an hour without wanting to cry.
