Yesterday I was all set to eat at Bottega Louie when I saw a tip from Tony C. about Drago Centro that sounded too tempting to pass up.
However, since I was already at Bottega Louie pondering what to order, I didn’t want to leave empty handed so I bought four cupcakes that I planned to bring into work today for a cupcake tasting with my favorite coworkers.
I asked for one of each flavor, and figured four different cupcakes would be enough for the three of us. Don’t these look great?
So today, Ms. S and I made plans to have our tasting in my classroom at lunch. We wanted Mr. R to join us but he had a previous commitment. More on that later. Anyway, we joined some desks, laid out some tissues and got the forks ready! Here is Ms. S!
Two seconds and two forks later, this is what the scene looked like. Don’t judge! We are hungry teachers!
It turns out that two of the cupcakes were actually Red Velvet, except they had different frosting. Interesting. The chocolate one was good, but the most memorable one was the banana chocolate. That was quite a surprise!
After a few bites, we decided to take the party over to Mr. R’s classroom because honestly? We felt a little bad that he was missing out. So we took what was left of the cupcakes and put them back in the really cute Bottega Louie box.
It didn’t look very pretty…but Mr. R didn’t mind! He also thought that the banana chocolate was really good! I liked the Red Velvet, but I definitely think that Big Man Bakes is a lot better. I think next time BMB will be the subject of our cupcake tasting.

Thank you so much for the inspiring cupcake blog at Bottega Louie. Have not yet visited but close to my hood so looking forward to the hustle and bustle of good food being served and saving room for desert!
Thank you for the share.
[…] Their pastries are incredible! As I mentioned in this post, if you are ever running late and need a gift? Stop by Bottega Louie for a fruit tart or a box of macaroons. They will box them up for you and even add ribbon. Seriously. Sidenote? Last year, I used pink Bottega Louie ribbon to pull down the projector screen in my classroom. Trufax. Have I told you how much I love the pastries here? Well on this particular Sunday, I ordered my usual cupcake. You may remember last year we had a cupcake tasting at work. Check it out here. […]
